Abba Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, declaring that no political party can stop President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Abba completed his registration on Monday at Gwadabwa Ward in Yola North Local Government Area, where he collected his APC membership card, weeks after announcing his defection on January 15.
He said his decision was based on what he described as the Tinubu administration’s achievements in economic management and human capital development, stressing that the President’s policies and appointments are driven by merit, not ethnicity or religion.
“I want to make it very clear that nobody or any political party can stop President Bola Tinubu from returning to Aso Rock in 2027,” Abba said.
Also speaking, APC chieftain in Adamawa, Alhaji Jamilu Yusuf, said President Tinubu had no serious challenger ahead of the 2027 polls, urging other aspirants to focus on more productive ventures.
Reacting, Atiku Abubakar said his son’s decision to join the APC was personal and should not be politicised, noting that he does not coerce his children or Nigerians in matters of conscience.
