Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), backed by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Monday staged a protest at the National Industrial Court, Abuja, over unresolved labour disputes.
The protest formed part of the ongoing total and indefinite strike by FCTA workers, which the NLC has formally endorsed, describing it as justified due to alleged persistent violations of workers’ rights by the FCTA leadership.
Protesters carried placards bearing inscriptions such as “Wike must go!!”, “Pay promotion arrears”, “Enough is Enough” and “No working tools,” as they demanded improved welfare and better working conditions.
The workers accused authorities of failing to address long-standing grievances, prompting the continued industrial action.
