Troops of 1 Division, Sector 1 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled a bandit attack in Maraban Rido, Kaduna State, killing one suspected terrorist and recovering stolen livestock.
The operation followed a distress call on January 22, reporting livestock rustling in Anguwan Fulan village. Troops laid an ambush, engaged the fleeing bandits, and forced them to abandon their loot.
Further clearance operations on January 23 led to the neutralisation of one suspect and the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, four magazines, and 15 rounds of ammunition.
Major General Abubakar Sadiq Wase, GOC 1 Division and Commander Sector 1 OPFY, commended the troops’ professionalism, urged continued vigilance, and reassured the public of the Army’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
