Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has reaffirmed his commitment to his political principles, insisting he will not sacrifice his convictions for personal gain.
Kwankwaso spoke on Friday while addressing supporters at his residence in Kano, following the reported defection of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and other political figures from the NNPP.
He said his long-standing political struggle has been driven by a desire to uplift ordinary Nigerians, not by the pursuit of wealth.
“I am not for sale. If I were in politics for personal gain, I would have taken the easy route,” he told his supporters, adding that the strength of the Kwankwasiyya Movement lies in shared ideals, not material inducements.
Kwankwaso urged his followers to begin early mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections and remain vigilant amid unfolding political developments in Kano State.
He reaffirmed his resolve to continue defending the interests of the masses and resisting exploitation and oppression.
