The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has debunked an online report claiming that his mother died on Monday, describing the publication as false and misleading.
Ribadu clarified the issue in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Tuesday after receiving numerous calls and messages from sympathisers.
The viral report had alleged that Mamma Ribadu, said to be the mother of the NSA and the Emir of Fufore, Sani Ribadu, died on January 19, 2026, at the age of 86.
Reacting, Ribadu said the claim was inaccurate, stressing that his mother passed away 28 years ago.
He explained that the deceased was Hajja Mamma Sulaiman Ribadu, the wife of his late uncle, whose death was wrongly attributed to his mother.
Ribadu thanked well-wishers for their concern and prayers, noting that their support was appreciated despite the confusion caused by the false report.
