Arsenal teenager Ethan Nwaneri is close to completing a loan move to Olympique Marseille for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, with talks between both clubs at an advanced stage.

The deal is expected to be a straight loan, with no option for a permanent transfer, as Arsenal seek regular first-team football for the 17-year-old midfielder.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed that Nwaneri has held positive discussions with Marseille head coach Roberto De Zerbi, while Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has also been involved in the talks. Both clubs reportedly agree that Marseille offers the right environment for the youngster’s development.

The loan move is viewed by Arsenal as a strategic step to aid Nwaneri’s growth, prioritising consistent minutes in a competitive league over limited opportunities in the Premier League.

Once finalised, the England youth international is expected to join up quickly with the Ligue 1 side.
