Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured the bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Egypt 4-2 on penalties following a goalless draw at the Stade de Casablanca, Morocco.

Both sides were unable to find a breakthrough after 90 minutes, with Nigeria’s defence holding firm against Egypt’s attacks led by Mohamed Salah. The match proceeded directly to a shootout.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali proved decisive, making crucial saves as Egypt converted only two spot-kicks, while Nigeria calmly scored four to seal victory.

The result hands Nigeria a third-place finish at AFCON 2025, while Egypt missed out on a podium place despite a disciplined display.
