The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has described the prospect of the All Progressives Congress (APC) retaining power under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 as “scary to contemplate.”
Speaking on Thursday, Abdullahi criticised the APC-led government’s performance, citing persistent economic hardship and security challenges that, he said, have left many Nigerians dissatisfied.
He warned that extending the current administration beyond 2027 could worsen national difficulties and further strain governance and the daily lives of citizens.
Abdullahi’s remarks come amid growing political positioning by opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the ADC urging voters to critically assess the ruling party’s record.
The APC has yet to respond to the comments, though it has previously defended its policies, insisting it is working to stabilise the economy and tackle insecurity.
