Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has described the death of Mrs. Nwamaka Chigbo, who was reportedly killed by suspected kidnappers in Abuja on January 5, as a colossal loss to her family, the legal profession and the nation.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor expressed deep sympathy with the family, friends and associates of the deceased, a former President of the Catholic Lawyers Association, Abuja.
Sanwo-Olu also condoled with the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), the Global Association of Female Lawyers (GAFA) and the Catholic Lawyers Association over the loss of one of their members.
“It is with deep sorrow that I commiserate with the President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, Maureen Chigbo, and her family on the passing of her elder sister, Barr. (Mrs.) Nwamaka Chigbo,” the governor said, noting her dedication and positive impact on the legal profession.
He prayed for the repose of her soul and for strength and comfort for her family and all those affected by her untimely death.
