The United States Embassy in Abuja has reopened its newly redesigned American Center at the Embassy Chancery, featuring modern facilities aimed at boosting education, innovation and people-to-people ties between the U.S. and Nigeria.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Embassy said the centre will serve as a hub for learning and skills development, offering programmes in educational advising, entrepreneurship and digital literacy.
U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard M. Mills, Jr., said the American Center reflects U.S. values while responding to the aspirations of Nigerian youth, noting that American Spaces provide opportunities to learn about the United States, improve English skills and build professional capacity.
The centre includes upgraded technology, flexible learning spaces and murals celebrating American history, innovation and shared democratic values.
Country Public Diplomacy Counsellor, Lee McManis, said the Abuja centre is part of a network of 29 American Spaces nationwide, designed to strengthen bilateral ties through access to information, skills development and dialogue.
The Embassy said the reopening reaffirms its commitment to educational exchange and professional development, with participants attending the ceremony both physically and virtually.
