Manchester United have reached a verbal agreement with Michael Carrick to serve as interim head coach until the end of the season.
The former midfielder, a club legend, is expected to return to the dugout to steady the team during a critical phase of the campaign. Carrick previously worked on United’s coaching staff and is regarded as a trusted figure with strong knowledge of the club’s culture.
Sources say the deal is in place, with official confirmation expected soon. Carrick will be tasked with stabilising results and restoring confidence as the club searches for a long-term managerial solution.
An announcement is anticipated in the coming hours.
