Popular comedienne and skit maker Apaokagi Maryam, known as Taaooma, has raised concern over illegal refuse dumping on road medians in parts of Lagos State, urging authorities to act swiftly.
In a video shared on her X account on Sunday, Taaooma highlighted heaps of waste along the Ikotun, Ejigbo and Egbeda axis, tagging the Lagos Waste Management Authority, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency and the Commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab.
Her post sparked widespread reactions, with many users noting that similar conditions exist in areas such as Mushin, Ketu, Oshodi, Surulere and Yaba. Some residents blamed delays and inefficiency in refuse evacuation, warning of health risks from prolonged waste accumulation.
The reactions underscore growing public concern over waste management in Lagos, with calls on authorities to restore effective refuse collection across the state.
