The African Democratic Congress (ADC), has raised the alarm over fake online platforms falsely claiming to register new members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja and shared on X by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party clarified that it has not launched any official online membership registration portal.

The ADC urged Nigerians to disregard any links, websites or messages purporting to offer digital registration for the party.

“At this time, ADC has not launched any public online membership registration link,” the statement said, adding that the party is working on an official registration and verification platform, which will be announced through verified channels when ready.

The party warned that fraudsters are using sophisticated tactics to deceive unsuspecting members of the public, stressing that ADC will never request payments or sensitive personal information through unofficial platforms.

It advised Nigerians not to click on suspicious links, share unverified messages, or submit personal details such as phone numbers, PVC information, BVN or payment details to unverified sources.

“All legitimate ADC announcements will only be communicated through verified party platforms and formal statements from the party leadership,” the statement added.

The ADC said it has begun steps to address the situation and safeguard the integrity of the party against digital manipulation, noting that such scams often increase as political activities intensify ahead of elections.

The party recalled a similar incident in July 2025, when it disowned a fake list of state chairmen and warned against unauthorised online registration schemes.

Reiterating its call for vigilance, the ADC urged Nigerians to always verify party-related information through credible and recognised party channels.
