Renowned Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, are mourning the death of one of their twin sons, Nkanu Nnamdi.
A family statement issued on Thursday said the 21-month-old toddler died on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, after a brief illness.
Describing the loss as devastating, the family appealed for privacy, prayers and understanding as they grieve, adding that no further comments would be made during the period of mourning.
