The Nigeria Police Force has recovered a suspected unexploded military device in a residential area of Niger State after residents reported a strange object on Tuesday.
Police operatives from the Niger State Command swiftly cordoned off the area to restrict access and advised residents to stay indoors. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit was later deployed to assess and safely evacuate the device.
The object was removed without any casualties or damage, and normal activities resumed after the area was declared safe.
Police commended residents for promptly reporting the incident and urged the public to continue alerting security agencies to suspicious objects. Investigations are ongoing to determine the origin of the device.
