Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised his side’s resilience after a hard-fought 3-2 comeback victory over Bournemouth, describing it as further evidence of the team’s growth in their Premier League title push.

The Gunners recovered from an early setback after Gabriel Magalhaes’ error led to Bournemouth’s opener. The Brazilian defender quickly made amends, scoring the equaliser moments later.

Declan Rice then proved decisive in the second half, netting twice to put Arsenal in control before a late strike from Eli Kroupi reduced the deficit.

Arteta said the response to adversity showed the character within the squad.

“They are a very good team, and we made it harder by conceding first, but I love the character of this team,” he said. “The way Gabriel reacted says a lot about how much we’ve grown.”

Rice’s display was particularly notable, having been a major injury doubt after missing the previous league game with knee swelling. The England midfielder started and delivered his first Premier League brace.

“He pushed himself to the limit, and the team were rewarded,” Arteta added.

The win keeps Arsenal firmly in the title race as they continue their bid to end a long wait for the league crown.
