The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed accusations by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, urging him to “face his problems with his super powers” instead of dragging others into Bauchi’s affairs.
Wike spoke on Thursday during a “thank you” visit to Abua-Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State, reacting to comments by Mohammed on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, where the Bauchi governor accused him of instigating crises in the state and recalled an alleged threat to “put fire” in Bauchi.
The FCT minister described the claims as a blame game, saying Mohammed should address his political challenges rather than accuse others. He also alleged that the Bauchi governor previously interfered in Rivers politics by attempting to impose a party leader, warning that such actions had consequences.
Wike insisted he had no interest in Bauchi State affairs, adding that his dealings with Mohammed were strictly within party leadership matters. He further challenged the governor to respond to allegations involving his associates and ongoing investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
On accusations of questionable land deals in Abuja, Wike asked Mohammed, a former FCT minister, to account for his own tenure, accusing him of awarding contracts that were not completed.
At the event, Abua-Odual council chairman, Owolobi Ofori, and other stakeholders pledged loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and Wike, assuring the minister of continued support from the area.
