The Nigeria Police Force has again halted nationwide enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit policy following an interim court order restraining its implementation.
The policy, originally set to begin on Thursday, January 2, 2026, was paused after the court issued the order on December 17, 2025, pending the determination of a substantive suit. The Police are also seeking to have the interim order vacated.
The matter has been adjourned to Tuesday, January 20, 2026, for further hearing. The Force reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law and public safety, assuring the public that updates on the policy will be provided as the case progresses.
