Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has declared 2026 a year of unlimited opportunities for the state, promising to build on the achievements of 2025 through continued development across key sectors.
Speaking during his New Year broadcast on Thursday, Oyebanji highlighted progress made in infrastructure, health, education, and youth-focused agriculture initiatives, including the distribution of N1.4 billion in profits to participants of the Bring-Back-the-Youths-in-Agriculture project.
The governor assured residents that security remains a top priority, particularly given challenges in neighbouring states.
He called for civility and peace ahead of the June 20 governorship election, pledging to maintain a political environment free of intimidation and violence.
Oyebanji also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government for supporting state projects, including the reconstruction of the Itawure-Aramoko-Ado Road, and thanked legislators, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other stakeholders for their contributions to Ekiti’s growth and stability.
He urged all Ekiti people to embrace the opportunities in 2026, emphasizing that continued progress depends on unity, hard work, and collaboration between government and citizens.
