The FCT Fire Service has confirmed that a fire at Cake Hut Restaurant in Wuse 2, Abuja, was contained early Thursday, with no casualties.
Comptroller Amiola Adebayo said firefighters received a distress call at 12:25 a.m. and brought the blaze under control by 1:20 a.m. Preliminary investigations indicated the fire was sparked by an object thrown from outside during New Year celebrations, which landed on the restaurant’s thatched roof.
Firefighters from both the FCT and Federal Fire Service worked together to extinguish the fire, while police cleared traffic to aid emergency response. Adebayo confirmed that the fire caused no injuries and was fully contained.
