The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), has officially marked its transition from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), with the unveiling of a new institutional logo, signaling a fresh chapter in Nigeria’s revenue administration.
The event, held in Abuja on Wednesday, was attended by top officials, including Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the NRS.
Adedeji described the new identity as a “significant milestone” in the evolution of the country’s revenue framework, emphasizing its alignment with global best practices and Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda.
“The unveiling reflects a renewed commitment to a more unified, efficient, and service-oriented revenue system,” Adedeji said. “It signals continuity of purpose, strengthened institutional capacity, and a forward-looking approach to supporting taxpayers and national development.”
Dare Adekanmbi, Special Adviser to the NRS Chairman, added that the new identity represents “not an end, but the beginning of a strengthened relationship between the revenue authority and the Nigerian public-built on trust, clarity, and shared prosperity.”
The NRS came into operation following the signing of the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Act 2025 by President Bola Tinubu in June.
The agency has pledged to uphold transparency, partnership, and service excellence as it assumes its new role in Nigeria’s fiscal landscape.
The rebranding underscores the government’s commitment to modernizing tax administration and improving service delivery to citizens, marking a new era for revenue collection in the country.
