Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has dismissed allegations linking him to terrorism or banditry, describing the claims as baseless and politically motivated.

Speaking on Wednesday at the Government House in Bauchi while receiving an award as a Safety Ambassador, the governor said he has never supported or been involved in terrorist activities, insisting that the accusations were unfounded.

Mohammed reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and said his administration remains focused on improving security and public safety across the state.

His comments come amid growing national concern over insecurity in northern Nigeria, where armed criminal groups have increasingly been designated as terrorists.

The governor also alluded to legal challenges involving some members of his administration, attributing them to political pressure rather than credible evidence.

He maintained that his government continues to support counter-insurgency efforts in collaboration with federal security agencies.
