World-renowned boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a road accident on Monday along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Ogun State, resulting in the deaths of two people.
The crash occurred shortly after 11 a.m. near Danco Filling Station on the Ibadan-bound lane when the Lexus SUV carrying Joshua reportedly collided with a stationary truck. Joshua sustained only minor injuries.
Eyewitnesses said the convoy included a Lexus and a Pajero SUV, with Joshua in the back of the Lexus.
Four people were in the vehicle, and two occupants, including the passenger beside Joshua, died on the spot. Bystanders assisted in the rescue before the Federal Road Safety Corps arrived.
Ogun State Police confirmed the incident, and investigations into the cause are ongoing.
Fans have expressed concern for Joshua’s condition, with authorities promising further updates.
