Premier League Boxing Day fixtures delivered excitement on Friday as title contenders and mid-table teams fought for vital points.
Arsenal bounced back with a 2-1 win over Brighton to remain in the title hunt, while Liverpool edged Wolves 2-1 at Anfield to compound the visitors’ struggles.
Aston Villa continued their fine form with a 2-1 comeback victory away at Chelsea, strengthening their top-four push. Manchester City also secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest to maintain pressure at the top.
Elsewhere, Brentford thrashed Bournemouth 4-1, Fulham claimed a 1-0 London derby win over West Ham, and Burnley and Everton played out a goalless draw.
The results tightened the title race and increased pressure on teams battling at the lower end of the table.
