Former Minister of Information Lai Mohammed has reiterated that no one was killed at the Lekki Tollgate during the October 2020 #EndSARS protests, though he acknowledged deaths occurred elsewhere during the nationwide unrest.

Speaking on Channels Television on Tuesday, Mohammed said soldiers and policemen were among the casualties, but no confirmed fatalities were recorded at Lekki Tollgate.

He noted that five years on, no family has reported a missing relative from the site.

Mohammed also questioned parts of the Lagos State Judicial Panel report describing the Lekki incident as a massacre, calling some findings inconsistent and disputing media narratives suggesting otherwise.

The #EndSARS protests, aimed at ending police brutality, saw violent clashes across Nigeria, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries.

Debate over events at Lekki Tollgate continues nationally and internationally.
