Nigerian music star Davido turned a $25,000 bet into $96,564 after Nigeria opened its 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), campaign with a 2-1 win over Tanzania in Group C at the Complexe Sportif de Fès, Morocco.
The singer had wagered that both teams would score, sharing his betting slip on social media.
With Semi Ajayi opening the scoring for Nigeria and Ademola Lookman netting the winner after Tanzania equalised, Davido’s prediction proved spot-on.
The win has thrilled fans on social media, celebrating both the Super Eagles’ strong start and Davido’s betting success.
Nigeria will next face Tunisia and Uganda as they aim to build momentum in the Group C stage of AFCON 2025.
