Nigeria’s youth captain, Sufiyan Boluwatife, claimed his fifth Black Knight Closed Scrabble Championship title in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Boluwatife, a former African Youth and World Youth competitor, finished top with six wins and a cumulative score of +796, edging defending champion Olawale Qudus, who also had six wins but scored +303.
The one-day event featured 22 players, with cash prizes and awards for outstanding performers.
Tournament founder and former national champion Kabiru Olaiya praised participants, highlighting the competition as a platform for discovering young talent at national and international levels.
