Arsenal progressed to the Carabao Cup semi-finals after defeating Crystal Palace 8-7 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in their quarter-final clash on Tuesday night.

Crystal Palace scored late to force the game into a shootout after normal time, but the Gunners held their nerve from the spot.

Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga proved decisive with a crucial save during the penalties.

The match was disrupted by injury to Palace defender Chris Richards, who was stretchered off with a foot injury.

Arsenal will now face Chelsea in the semi-finals as Mikel Arteta’s side continue their pursuit of silverware.
