The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), has said President Bola Tinubu is committed to building a modern and efficient justice sector, as the Federal Ministry of Justice launched a digital document management system in Abuja.

Speaking at the launch of the Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS), Fagbemi said the platform would eliminate bureaucratic delays by enabling electronic creation, processing, storage and retrieval of official documents, marking a shift from manual operations.

In a statement by the President’s media aide in the Justice Ministry, Kamarudeen Ogundele, the system was said to align with the Renewed Hope Agenda and the Federal Civil Service reform plan.

Fagbemi noted that the move to a paperless environment would strengthen institutional memory, improve accountability and enhance decision-making.

He also inaugurated renovated facilities in the ministry, including a staff clinic, sports centre, crèche and canteen.

Also speaking, Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Mrs Beatrice Jeddy-Agba, said over 6,200 files comprising more than 331,000 pages were digitised within eight weeks, adding that the reform would end delays caused by manual processes.

She described the ECMS as a major step toward efficiency, transparency and improved service delivery in the justice sector.
