Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Wednesday began converging at the NLC Secretariat in Abuja for a nationwide protest against rising insecurity across the country.
NLC President Joe Ajaero was among those present at the secretariat, alongside leaders of affiliated labour unions and civil society organisations participating in the protest.
Also in attendance were Omoyele Sowore and members of the Revolution Now Movement, who joined the demonstration in solidarity with organised labour.
Meanwhile, security agencies have deployed personnel to the area, including officers of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), to monitor the situation.
