The Ministry of Police Affairs has begun transitioning from manual paperwork to a digital work environment with the deployment of an Enterprise Content Management (ECM), platform aimed at improving efficiency, transparency and accountability.

The platform replaces paper-based processes with a secure system for managing records, workflows and official communication, featuring tools for document management, email, virtual meetings and file storage.

Speaking at the launch on Sunday, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Ogbonnaya Nlia, described the initiative as a major step in its digital transformation, noting that it would strengthen institutional memory and service delivery.

He urged staff to embrace the system, assuring them of adequate training and support.

The rollout aligns with the Federal Government’s plan to fully digitise the civil service by December 31, 2025.

Officials said similar deployments are ongoing across federal ministries to ease the transition to a fully digital work process.
