The Kebbi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has called for the release of former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), accusing the EFCC of bias and political motivation in his ongoing detention.
The party alleged that the anti-graft agency has applied double standards, targeting opposition figures while being lenient toward those aligned with the ruling party.
It said Malami, who has cooperated with investigators, has not been convicted and should either be charged or granted bail without restrictive conditions.
The ADC warned that selective enforcement by the EFCC risks eroding public trust in anti-corruption efforts and undermining Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
