A heavy rush of passengers was recorded on Friday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, as travelers prepared for Christmas journeys.

The surge marked one of the airport’s busiest days this festive season.

Despite the crowd, airport authorities said flight schedules remained stable, adding that security and operational staff had been reinforced to manage the increased traffic. Passengers were advised to arrive early and follow all security protocols.

Long queues were seen at check-in points, security screening, and boarding gates as families, business travelers, and holidaymakers made last-minute trips.

Airline staff were on ground assisting with luggage and boarding arrangements.

Officials attributed the spike to the usual yuletide travel rush and assured that additional measures had been put in place to minimise delays.

The airport management urged travelers to comply with safety guidelines and arrive ahead of time for seamless processing.
