Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League fixtures delivered comebacks and crucial victories for Europe’s top sides, with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Liverpool boosting their knockout hopes as Chelsea suffered a setback.
Bayern overturned a 1-0 deficit to beat Sporting CP 3-1, inspired by 17-year-old Lennart Karl’s brace after an early own goal.
Jonathan Tah sealed the win, keeping Bayern on course for a top-eight finish.
Liverpool snatched a late 1-0 victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro, with Dominik Szoboszlai converting an 88th-minute penalty to keep their campaign alive.
Chelsea’s night ended in disappointment as they fell 2-1 to Atalanta despite leading at the break. Second-half goals from Gianluca Scamacca and Charles De Ketelaere leave the Blues under growing qualification pressure.
Barcelona also came from behind to defeat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1, thanks to two headers from Jules Koundé, strengthening their push for the next round.
Elsewhere, Tottenham eased past Slavia Prague 3-0, while Monaco edged Galatasaray 1-0.
