FCT Police Arrest Man Over Ammo Supply to Zamfara Bandits

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested 32-year-old Ahmed Abubakar for allegedly attempting to procure ammunition for bandits in Zamfara State.

Abubakar, a Gusau native residing in Gwagwalada, Abuja, was arrested on Saturday, December 7, following intelligence that he contacted a serving Army corporal to secure 1,000 rounds of ammo in exchange for payment.

Investigations revealed he acted on instructions from his uncle, Ahmed Yakubu, who fled before the arrest.

Police recovered N170,100 believed meant for the transaction.

Abubakar remains in custody as authorities intensify efforts to apprehend his accomplice.

The FCT Police reaffirmed their commitment to disrupting arms supply to criminal groups.
