Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Abdullahi Bello, has urged young Nigerians to reject bribery and uphold integrity, stressing that their choices will shape the nation’s future.

Bello made the call on Tuesday in Abuja at the 2025 International Anti-Corruption Day public dialogue organised by the Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ).

He said Nigeria’s anti-corruption efforts require the active involvement of youth, who must refuse bribes, maintain strong moral values, and speak out against wrongdoing.

He also encouraged young citizens to demand accountability from public officials, noting that asset declaration remains essential for transparency.

Bello assured that anti-corruption agencies and civil society groups stand ready to support youth-led accountability efforts.

ANEEJ Executive Director, David Ugolor, said this year’s theme, “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption, Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity,” highlights the critical role of young people in driving transparency and governance reforms.

International Anti-Corruption Day is observed annually on December 9 to raise awareness about corruption’s impact on development and public trust.
