Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has officially joined the Accord Party, ending his long-standing membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Adeleke confirmed his defection on Tuesday evening in an announcement monitored by SaharaReporters, shortly after unveiling Accord as his new political platform.
The move follows his November 4, 2025 resignation from the PDP, communicated in a letter to the party’s Ward 2 chairman in Ede North.
In the letter, Adeleke cited a “deepening crisis within the national leadership” of the PDP, saying the internal turmoil made it impossible for him to remain in the party.
Adeleke thanked the PDP for the roles it played in his political rise, from his election as Senator for Osun West to his emergence as governor.
His move to Accord comes after weeks of speculation, with political sources earlier hinting that Adeleke was preparing to pitch his tent with the party.
