FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says the contractor handling the Maitama-Gishiri-Jahi-Gwarinpa interchange project has continued work at an impressive pace despite irregular funding from the government.

Speaking during a weekend inspection of the site, Wike expressed surprise at the level of progress achieved, noting that the contractor’s perseverance reflects strong confidence in the President Bola Tinubu administration.

“What surprises me is the confidence they have even though we have not funded them very well. I can see the level of work they have done,” he said. “We are going to make sure the contractor, having shown this level of commitment, is well funded.”

The minister described the quality of work as encouraging and reiterated that the interchange, once completed, will significantly ease traffic congestion for motorists heading to and from Gwarinpa Estate.
