Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, on Sunday interrupted Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke during an event in Ile-Ife marking the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

Adeleke, known for his energetic dancing, had begun singing on stage when the First Lady approached him, saying: “I’m giving you five minutes to finish your speech. The music is enough.” As he continued, she added: “I will turn off the microphone. Stop the music.”

The exchange, captured on video, has since stirred reactions online.

Senator Tinubu, in her remarks, expressed optimism about the country’s economic outlook, saying Nigeria would attain prosperity by 2026.

She also thanked the Ooni for the honour bestowed on her and highlighted the achievements of her husband’s administration.

Adeleke recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and is weighing new political platforms ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
