Abdulmumin Jimoh dominated Scrabblemania 3.0 in Sinkor, Monrovia, winning with 26 victories and four losses, and an impressive +2612 spread.
His commanding performance reaffirmed his place among Africa’s top scrabble players and highlighted the continent’s growing strength ahead of the 2026 African Championship.
Jimoh, who was part of Nigeria’s Best Country triumph at the World Championship in Accra, described the event as “spectacular,” praising the competition, organisation, and camaraderie.
He also thanked Pan African Scrabble Association President Adekoyejo Adegbesan for his mentorship and commended Liberia’s Scrabble Federation President Lester Morris for hosting a successful event.
WESPA Chairman Lukeman Owolabi placed second with 20 wins, followed by Ghana’s Charles Tachie Menson and Nigeria’s Cyriel Umebiye with 19 wins each.
Liberia’s Sherif Malek finished fifth, an encouraging result for the host nation.
The tournament also served as a key preparatory event as Monrovia gears up to host the 2026 African Scrabble Championship.
