The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has rescued seven kidnapped victims and destroyed a kidnappers’ camp in Ushafa following a coordinated security operation.

Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said the operation, carried out on December 6, 2025, was based on intelligence tracing the abductors from the outskirts of Mpape toward Kagarko LGA in Kaduna State.

It involved operatives of the FCT Anti-Kidnapping Unit, the Nigerian Army, and the Department of State Services.

The raid followed a distress report on December 5 that gunmen had invaded the Ushafa community and abducted several residents. As security agents stormed the hideout, the criminals opened fire, triggering a gun battle.

The operatives overpowered the gang, dislodged them, and rescued one victim on the spot, while six additional victims were recovered in a follow-up operation.

The police said efforts are ongoing to hunt down the fleeing suspects.
