First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Sunday expressed confidence that Nigeria will overcome its current challenges and emerge stronger in the coming year.

Speaking at the 2025 Service of Nine Lessons and Carols held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, the First Lady, represented by the Mandate Secretary, FCT Women Affairs Secretariat, Mrs Adedayo Benjamin-Laniyi urged Nigerians to approach 2026 with faith rather than fear.

The event was jointly organised by the NTA, FRCN, and VON and themed “Jesus Our Strength.”

Tinubu described the theme as timely, stressing that Christ remains the nation’s source of hope.

She said the season should inspire renewed confidence that “Nigeria may be tested, but Nigeria will triumph,” adding that the country would “rise again” through unity, faith and perseverance.

She commended the musical and cultural performances at the event, saying they reflected Nigeria’s diversity and symbolised national unity.

Quoting Scripture, she declared that God would “crown the year with goodness” and restore joy and prosperity to the nation.

Also speaking, Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, Mr Jibrin Baba Ndace, called for peace, unity and mutual respect among Nigerians.

He said Christmas is a season of national healing and urged citizens to support President Bola Tinubu’s vision for a more united and globally respected Nigeria.

Ndace emphasised the role of public media in promoting positive narratives, warning against misinformation.

He added that Nigeria belongs to all its people, regardless of faith and that citizens must remain intentional about building a stronger nation.
