Former Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, has confirmed that her marriage to David Oyekanmi has ended, putting months of speculation to rest.
Queen, who married Oyekanmi in March 2024 while still engaged in a public dispute with her baby father, comedian Lord Lamba, had sparked rumours of trouble when she unfollowed her husband on Instagram and deleted their wedding photos.
She initially dismissed the claims, saying she was only limiting public access to her private life.
However, the reality star confirmed the split on Wednesday in an Instagram exchange after posting photos from the burial of actress Mercy Aigbe’s mother.
When a follower asked if she was still married, Queen replied: “Single and unavailable.”
Her comment marks the first clear confirmation that the marriage collapsed after just one year.
