Senator Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara West), has alleged that the Nigerian Presidency is being run “from outside” the Presidential Villa, claiming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is “caged” within Aso Rock.
Speaking at the One Nigeria Project Conference in Abuja on Wednesday, the former Zamfara State governor also dismissed suggestions that former U.S. President Donald Trump could influence Nigeria’s affairs, insisting that the country’s problems must be solved internally.
Yari urged Nigerians to remain united, saying the nation has survived past crises and “has come to stay.”
He criticised members of the elite who, according to him, publicly attack the President while quietly controlling decisions from outside the Villa.
“Those close to the Presidency know that the operations are done more from outside the Villa than inside. We already have the President caged there,” he claimed.
Yari urged political leaders to act responsibly and uphold the trust placed in them by Nigerians.
