Afrobeats star David Adeleke (Davido) has reacted to the resignation of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Davido reposted the announcement on X on Tuesday with the caption “Jeje…,” a comment interpreted as a call for calm amid rising political tensions.
Governor Adeleke’s exit became public on Monday through a letter dated November 4, 2025, addressed to the PDP chairman in Ward 2, Ede North. He cited unresolved issues within the party’s national leadership as his reason for leaving.
The development has heightened uncertainty ahead of the PDP governorship primary for the 2026 Osun election. While the state chapter has suggested a possible postponement due to internal disputes, the PDP National Working Committee insists the primary will go ahead.
Adeleke is the only aspirant who purchased the party’s nomination form, raising questions about how the PDP will proceed following his resignation.
