Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has forwarded a fresh list of commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly, reappointing the same former commissioners whose cabinet was dissolved on August 10, 2025.
According to his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the decision followed consultations with All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and key stakeholders.
“The reappointment aims to maintain party unity ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election. Introducing a new set of commissioners so close to the polls could be counter-productive,” the statement said.
The statement also noted that community and party leaders had been involved in the 2023 appointments to ensure accountability to the people.
