The Association of Resident Doctors in the FCT Administration (ARD-FCTA), has suspended its month-long indefinite strike after the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, approved key demands.
ARD-FCTA President, Dr. George Ebong, announced the suspension on Monday, saying it takes immediate effect.
He warned that the doctors will resume the strike if the approvals are not implemented within four weeks.
The strike, which began on November 1, 2025, disrupted services across 14 district and general hospitals and the Department of Public Health, leading to delays in patient care and increased pressure on remaining staff.
Dr. Ebong said the decision was taken “with the hope that the approvals from the minister will be implemented.”
