The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Tajudeen Abbas, on Tuesday formally welcomed the 26 finalists of the Abuja City Journal (ACJ) National Essay Competition during a courtesy visit to the National Assembly.
Speaker Abbas briefly acknowledged the finalists and commended their achievement in emerging among the top entrants from across the country.
The finalists, drawn from various states and academic backgrounds, are in Abuja ahead of the competition’s grand finale scheduled for November 26, 2025. The event will feature live essay presentations before a distinguished panel of judges, as well as mentorship and networking opportunities.
Organisers say the competition aligns with ACJ’s mission to foster critical thinking, civic engagement, and intellectual excellence among young Nigerians.
Winners of the competition will receive ₦5 million, ₦3 million, and ₦2 million for the first, second, and third positions respectively.
