The National Essay Competition powered by Abuja City Journal recorded a heartwarming moment on Monday when one of its finalists, Vincent Maduka, marked his birthday during the ongoing programme in Abuja.
To celebrate him, organisers surprised the young finalist with a birthday cake, joined by other participants and officials in a brief but cheerful ceremony.
The gesture added excitement to the atmosphere, drawing smiles and applause from those present.
The organisers said the celebration was part of their commitment to making every participant feel appreciated. They described the finalists as “bright young minds who deserve to be celebrated both in and out of the competition hall.”
An elated Vincent thanked the Abuja City Journal team for the thoughtful gesture, saying it was a moment he would “never forget.”
The National Essay Competition continues as all 26 finalists prepare for the grand event scheduled for the 26th.
