The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) has graduated the pioneer cohort of its ICT Academy in Abuja, an initiative designed to equip young Nigerians with essential digital skills for employability and innovation.
The ceremony drew government officials, private-sector leaders and development partners committed to boosting youth participation in the digital economy.
NECA Director-General, Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde, said the academy was created to bridge Nigeria’s digital skills gap and empower young people with practical, future-ready competencies. He reaffirmed NECA’s commitment to strengthening the country’s workforce.
Representing the Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, a government delegate praised NECA’s efforts and expressed the state’s willingness to partner in expanding digital and vocational training.
The graduates, trained in digital literacy, ICT essentials and employability skills, described the programme as the beginning of new opportunities in Nigeria’s tech-driven economy.
